Gaucho Life

Hey all!!! Oh boy did we have a busy week! I was sick then Everett got sick, actually he is still sick, but you would never tell because he is still my serious lovable chunky butt;)

In the meantime, I have been doing some serious brainstorming and reading for my blog. Since I am so new to this, there is lots to catch up on and know about. It is somewhat overwhelming but I am eager to learn about this business and make a career out of it. That’s right, you heard me, it can be a job in itself, and let me tell you, it is work! With that said, I joined the Style Collective team and I bought my first ticket to a blogger’s conference next month, yay! I am beyond stoked and ready to meet other blogger babes. So there is reason on why I haven’t posted…I am still thinking and wondering what my niche could be in this blogosphere, so bare with me:)

Here is a gaucho jumpsuit I wore the other day, I have to say I was pretty excited to be shooting in the them, can you tell?

Don’t mind the dog training climb behind me;)

Beach Weekend

Hey guys! Happy Sunday! Today we head back home from South Padre Island. Every summer we rent a condo for the weekend and this time we stayed at Bridgepoint. It was amazing. They have their own palapa to order food and the umbrella and chairs are complementary when you walk out to the beach. It was quite a lovely stay. A little bit too humid for me but it was worth it. I know Everett loved it too and the boys had fun!

I was excited to finally wear some new bathing suits I hadn't worn this year. I was telling my husband how hard it is to enjoy the moment when you need to pause to take some pictures for the blog. He is definitely not a camera taking guy so finding the right angle and good time to do it was a little challenging for him. I can totally understand where he's coming from, so I had my mom and sister help too! (Haha sorry sis)

You know when you have this picture in your mind of how you want something to turn out and then when it happens it is nothing like you imagined? Well, that's exactly how these pictures turned out for me. I imagined the beautiful settings beautiful backgrounds, beautiful swimsuit. I knew they were gonna come out "perfect." My photos after saying "hey take my picture" (like the millionth time) turned out to be not what I imagined. And then with an iPhone no less. I think the iPhone take some amazing pictures especially the new iPhone 7 with that new photo option, but my phone was not capturing what I thought it would capture. It captured other things. After seeing all the photos from this weekend I could see the bad lighting, weird glares and shadows. Not to mention all my flaws. Being a blogger is tough! You are putting yourself out there and showing strangers your insecurities. For me it was being in a bathing suit and showing you all. The photos were definitely not how I envisioned them. I know we all have our insecurities and I am actually happy with my body after giving birth but in my mind I pictured something else I guess. Today I was reminded to embrace my flaws and be positive by showing them to you. This is me and I won't be afraid of what people think. So I dedicate this blog post to all my flaws, my insecurities and to reality! It is the REAL ME! No filter except adjusting the light so the photo isn't so dark for you all. I will get this blogging thing soon enough and hopefully not bother by husband and family so much on taking my pictures hehe…

What are your flaws and insecurities? I know we all have them, but it is important to just be happy and love yourself for who you are. That's what I plan to do:)

White Midi for the Win!

Hey guys! What is going on? How was your weekend? We had a great weekend with my sister in law and her husband visiting us from Victoria, TX. It’s always a fun time when we mix our usual Saturday’s up with family staying over. Believe it or not bu with Everett now in the family the house is still quiet! The boys are usually playing their games and it will just be baby and I. Daddy is busy working and the house is just so quiet. They left today and we are now back to normal. I am a little nervous because Everett gets his second round of shots today too. Pray it all goes well 💙
Here is a linen (button up) dress I wore the other day for running errands. This would be the perfect dress to wear in Paris while drinking tea on the terrace, or running through a flower garden!;) Or to run errands like me, you can dress it up or dress it down with some flats or even tennis! Hope you enjoy your day!

Dress is from Urban Outfitters
Soludos are from Nordstrom but you can also find them here
And hat is from Lack of Color

Get Your Bell Sleeve On!

Hey guys! How was everybody’s week? This week Everett and I hung out by the pool lots, it was so nice to finally get my hair wet and not care about it! Every time we go swimming I always have to put my hair up since it takes forever to style and dry. I have really thick hair so I have to wait a couple of days after its first wash. Butttt this time since I had to wash it the next day I was finally able to go all in! It felt so nice and I thought I need to do this more often! Do any of you guys have a pool and never use it? Guilty, even though it’s like 100 degrees outside everyday! This weather is crazy like that though, it’s sometimes just too hot to even take a dip. Yesterday my sisters and I had lunch so I was able to dress up and put some makeup on. I am so in love with this top right now. It’s a crop top, button up (you know I like thos button ups), it’s off the shoulder AND it has bell sleeves! What more can you ask for? Bell sleeves are trending big time right now. You can purchase this exact one here. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Xoxo

Valley Nature Center

Hi guys! Happy Friday! This week was a busy not to mention hot week! Last week my friend Hollie asked if my boys and I could help her with their annual kids camp at the Valley Nature Center in Weslaco, TX. We were glad to help as it was a very special week for kids with Autism. The VNC takes several weeks out of the Summer to host several kid's camp and this was one of them. Many of the children are sponsored by donations from our benefactors.

The VNC is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide knowledge and understanding of our environment to children and adults of the Lower Rio Grande Valley. It is a unique natural community of plant, bugs, birds and animals that occupy six acres with a mile of interpretive trails. There is a recreated Tamaulipas thorn-scrub forest and it has an extensive collection of South Texas native plants. The VNC hosts many programs including kid's summer camps, school field trips, birding classes, nature park tours, wildlife art and photo displays, guided tours and more.

If you have not had an opportunity to visit VNC, anytime is a good time! It is open Tuesday-Friday from 9AM-5PM, Saturday 8AM-5PM and Sunday 1PM-5PM. The admission fee for children 12 and under is $2.00, for those over 13 it is $5.00, and for senior citizens is $3.00. The admission fee helps provide resources that are used to help keep this wonderful place running. You can find the times and admission fee here. It is the perfect spot to take your little ones, or yourself, and learn about what the VNC has to offer.

Have you already been to the VNC? If so what did you think of it? What did you like most about it? I think my favorite part is feeding the turtles and looking at the snakes. I can't wait to take Everett when he is older!

Like and check out their Facebook Page for more information! Also if you are interested in giving a monetary donation or wanting to sponsor the VNC you may contact their office at 956-969-2457.
